AutoInsuranceQuery.com answers common questions about state minimum coverage, insurance laws and requirements, and lets drivers request auto insurance quotes. This page covers the personal information we handle on AutoInsuranceQuery.com. The site isn't run under a separate registered company name, so "we", "our" and "us" mean AutoInsuranceQuery.com.
When you send us a quote request, we pass your details to auto insurance carriers, agents, brokers and auto insurance comparison companies, and we are paid for doing so. Under California and other state privacy laws that is a "sale" of personal information. You can opt out at any time using our contact form, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals (see section 7).
Our server records ordinary access logs: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for and when. Google Analytics 4 places cookies in your browser and reads your IP address, device and the pages you visit so we can see aggregate traffic and estimate rough location (state or city). We don't use analytics for advertising. You can block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on.
The quote form collects your name, email address, phone number, street address, city, state and ZIP code; your date of birth, gender and marital status; whether you or someone in your family has served in the military; your education level; a credit score range you choose yourself (no credit check is made); whether you own or rent your home; the year, make, model and ownership of one or two vehicles; the coverage level you'd like; your current insurer and how long you've been insured; and whether you hold a valid licence or need an SR-22.
We also record evidence of your consent: the exact consent statement shown to you, when you agreed, your IP address and browser, the page URL, and any Global Privacy Control (GPC) setting your browser reported. The quote page uses ActiveProspect's TrustedForm service, which records the page and your interaction with the form and turns that into a consent certificate.
If you write to us through our contact form, including to make a privacy request, we receive what you enter (name, email, phone, state, message) by email and keep a copy, along with the IP address and browser it came from.
We use it to get you auto insurance quotes by passing your request to the companies described in section 6; to prove you consented to be contacted; to filter spam and abuse; to measure and improve the site; and to respond to requests and comply with the law.
Buyers of quote requests. Auto insurance carriers, agents, brokers and auto insurance comparison companies. They receive your quote request details and the consent record, may contact you as your consent allows, and are responsible for how they then use it. We don't sell to companies outside auto insurance.
Service providers. Our web host, our email provider, Google Analytics and ActiveProspect (TrustedForm), which process information for us.
Legal reasons. Where the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users.
Browsing data such as analytics and server logs is not sold.

California residents may also request, once a year, information about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing.
Global Privacy Control. We treat a GPC signal from your browser as an opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser. If you submit a quote request with GPC on, we will not sell it, so it won't reach insurance companies for quotes.
Making a request. Use our contact form and choose the type of request. Opt-outs don't require identity checks and are processed within 10 business days. For requests to know, delete or correct, we verify by matching what you give us with what we hold, and may email you. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and answer within 45 days, or tell you if we need up to 45 extra days. Authorized agents may submit requests with your written permission. When we delete your information we also notify the companies we sold it to.
Stopping calls and texts. Reply STOP to any text, ask a caller to stop, or choose "Stop contacting me" on the request form. We stop our own contact and stop sending your details to new companies within 10 business days. Companies that already have your request manage their own do-not-contact lists, so tell them too.

This information comes from you, from the device you use, and from Google Analytics and TrustedForm. Nothing we collect counts as sensitive personal information under California law, and there are no financial incentives tied to your data.
Quote requests and consent records are kept for up to 5 years so we can show that consent was given. Privacy requests are kept for 24 months. Google Analytics data is kept no longer than 14 months. Server logs are deleted after a limited period. Messages sent to us are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Connections to the site are encrypted, and quote requests are held on private servers with restricted access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
AutoInsuranceQuery.com is intended for adults. Quote requests are only accepted from people aged 18 or over, and we don't knowingly collect or sell information about anyone younger.
When our practices change we'll revise this page and update the date above.
